Who: ArchCity Defenders, KDHX, Filmmaker Wade Gardner, Rev. Dr. Spencer Booker, and Gail Booker
What: ArchCity Defenders and KDHX present a three month racial justice film series at The Stage at KDHX, beginning with a screening of Marvin Booker was Murdered, an award-winning feature length documentary directed by filmmaker Wade Gardner. Following the screening, ArchCity Defenders Executive Director Blake Strode will facilitate a Q&A with Wade Gardner, and Marvin Booker’s brother and sister-in-law featured in the film, Rev. Dr. Spencer Booker and Gail Booker. ArchCity Defenders and Wade Gardner will also be announcing a collaboration on an upcoming documentary film project after the screening.
When: Thursday, June 21st, doors at 6:30pm, film screening at 7pm

Why: The story of Marvin Booker is at the heart of ArchCity’s fight for civil rights across the St. Louis region. ArchCity Defenders, KDHX, and filmmaker Wade Gardner invite the community to attend this special screening of Marvin Booker was Murdered, and engage in a meaningful conversation through the Q&A afterwards. Each film will provide attendees with opportunities to connect with local action and advocacy in St. Louis.
More About: ArchCity and KDHX’s film series centers on a strong racial justice theme and will continue through the summer. The next screening will feature Damon Davis’s award-winning documentary, Whose Streets? on Thursday, July 26th. The third film planned for August 23rd is to be determined.
