#ACDTurns10 Racial Justice Roundtable
November 9 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
ACD is turning 10 this year! Our celebration ends with a day-long racial justice roundtable at the Deaconess Center for Child Well-Being involving lawyers, activists, funders, and community members.
We cordially invite you to join us in celebrating 10 years of service and action at our weekend birthday celebration, #ACDturns10 on Nov 8-9, 2019.
Following our Friday night dinner, we invite the community to join us Saturday for our Racial Justice Roundtable, an afternoon of social justice-oriented workshops, and plenaries. The opening plenary, featuring ACD’s co-founders Thomas Harvey, Michael-John Voss, and John McAnnar will back on 10 years of ACD’s community-centered holistic lawyering in #STL.
We’ll have six available workshop sessions (choose 2):
Alternatives to Bail & Jail
Housing & Homelessness
Developing Tools for Mind-Body Wellness in an Unjust World
Community Responses to Violence
For 10 years, we’ve represented clients in courts throughout the region, helped people get off the streets and into homes, challenged the systems that created and worsened their poverty, and together with our clients, impacted communities, grassroots organizers, supporters, and co-counsel, spoken out against these injustices. We do everything we can to spark conversation and engagement on issues impacting our clients and communities. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating 10 years of service and action, at our 2-day celebration on Nov 8-9, 2019.
Registration is now open. RSVP or make a donation by visiting acdturns10.org.
#ACDTurns10 Celebration Weekend is led by Co-Chairs Ashley and John Kemper, Merrill and Tom Nelson, and Valerie Bell and Kelvin Westbrook, and by Honorary Chairs Alison and John Ferring, Drs. Starsky and LaToya Wilson, Dr. Donald Suggs, and Emily Rauh Pulitzer.
We hope you will come out and celebrate the critical work that ArchCity is doing to make St. Louis a more just and equitable place to live and work!
