Join us July 26 at the Hi-Pointe for the second screening of the documentary that explores closing the Workhouse—and what comes next—as part of the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase.

For generations, the Workhouse stood as a symbol of punishment, neglect, and the criminalization of poverty in St. Louis.

“Hell on Hall Street” is a documentary chronicling the grassroots movement that shut it down—led by people directly impacted, community organizers, and legal advocates who refused to accept cages as public safety.

Join us at the Hi-Pointe for the second screening and a post-film panel discussion with members of the team behind the movement.
